The latest figures from the Government' s Office of National Statistics (ONS) show the areas in Calderdale which were hardest hit by Covid-19 almost year from the start of the pandemic.
The latest ONS data shows the number of deaths and the percentage of deaths caused by Covid-19, which were registered between March 2020 and February 2021.
Every death is tragic and the latest figures come as the country will mark the one-year anniversary of the start of the pandemic with a Day of Reflection on Tuesday March 23.
1. Batley Carr & Mount Pleasant
25 deaths from Covid-19 were registered between March 2020 and February 2021, 37% of all deaths recorded.
2. Dewsbury Savile Town & Thornhill Lees
28 deaths from Covid-19 were registered between March 2020 and February 2021, 34% of all deaths recorded.
3. Upper Batley & Soothill
21 deaths from Covid-19 were registered between March 2020 and February 2021, 29% of all deaths recorded.
4. Dewsbury Central & Westborough
28 deaths from Covid-19 were registered between March 2020 and February 2021, 29% of all deaths recorded.
