Danielle Brown’s children were distraught when the animal started attacking their new dog, Billy.
The loose animal, believed to be a pitbull-Staffordshire bull terrier cross, sunk its teeth into Billy’s jaw before they were separated.

The attack happened last Thursday lunchtime in a field near Old Bank Road, Mirfield.
Miss Brown was out walking her collie-springer spaniel cross with her three children when the other dog raced over and jumped over two-year-old Joseph’s pram.
The pram was knocked to the floor and the dog started attacking Billy.
“I just thought my son was going to die,” said Miss Brown, of Lockwood Avenue, Mirfield.
