Group’s £10,000 disco option
The Options Centre is using the cash for weekly disco nights for its disabled members, which started last Thursday. Centre Manager Lesley O’Donnell said: “The money has helped to buy specialist equipment, as well as maintaining my mini bus pick-up service, so that every member can attend the discos.”
John Marsden, of the DJ Station, helped find a special lighting system, which means members who suffer from epilepsy can enjoy the discos safely.

Mrs Summers said: “The Options Centre is the most wonderful place in the world and I mean that sincerely.
“Jane visits twice a week and returns so happy. I can hear her laughing before she reaches the front door. It is a big bonus to her life.”
The tardis-like centre offers vast recreational facilities for people with physical and mental disabilities. Members can use the huge sports hall, pool and darts room, yoga space, kitchen and more. Various rooms are hired by other community groups.

“I will keep strong and always carry on as I never want this place to close”, said Mrs O’Donnell.
