Tributes to popular and loyal cricketer
Andy Bolt, who spent 30 years with Mirfield Cricket Club, died aged 56 after suffering from Parkinson’s disease.
Mr Bolt’s wife Janet said: “Andy never really considered leaving Mirfield. He had grown up there and had a lot of happy times there.”

Hide AdMirfield Cricket Club president Eric Bell said: “Andy enjoyed success with Mirfield in the 80s and 90s with a League and Heavy Woollen Cup double, making a man of the match performance in the victory over Shepley. He also captained the side to Jack Hampshire Cup triumph in 1994.
“His loyalty – a rare quality these days – to his cricket club was legendary, and his support both home and away for his beloved football club, Huddersfield Town, was unwavering.
“We shall miss Bolty, he was a legend at Mirfield Cricket Club and throughout the Central Yorkshire Cricket League.”
He leaves a wife Janet, 52, son David, 23, and a daughter Emma, 20.

Hide AdMr Bolt was born in Mirfield and attended Knowl Primary School followed by Heckmondwike Grammar School.
He died Sunday November 8 at Dewsbury and District Hospital and his funeral will be held at Dewsbury Moor Crematorium on Monday November 23 at 10.30am. It will be followed by a gathering at Canalside in Huddersfield.
