Lowly Crossbank give Birstall cup scare
Paul James top scored with 48 as Crossbank were bowled out for 134, with Jaymish Patel and Paul Blakeley claiming three wickets each.
Birstall were reduced to 10-3 in reply as Joshua Mastin (3-20) struck early but they were guided to a nervy five-wicket win as Craig Wood made 59.

Mirfield suffered a crushing 245-run defeat to Oulton, who had Imran Mayat (129) in superb form as they posted 350-8 before dismissing their opponents for 95.

Hide AdLiversedge capped an impressive weekend by reaching the second round thanks to an eight-wicket win over Wakefield St Michael’s.
Graeme Winn claimed 3-47 as St Michael’s were restricted to 194-7, with Alexander Leyshon top scoring with 77 not out, including 10 fours and three sixes.
Liversedge were reduced to 50-2 in reply before Alan Sumner and Paul Marlow shared an unbroken 147-run third-wicket partnership.
Marlow ended on 62 not out, while Sumner finished unbeaten on 104 having hit 16 fours to steer the Roberttown Lane side through.
